  • The structure of the sessions is relatively consistent. In the beginning, if this is your first session, we will talk a bit about how things go in the session, review some housekeeping like going over intake paperwork, and ask you what has brought you to therapy. In subsequent sessions, we will begin by recapping what we spoke about last time and address any housekeeping. From there, we will dive into the session. Finally, in the last 10 minutes, we will recap, set an agenda for next time, make the session notes together.

  • Yes, what you say in therapy is confidential and remains only between yourself and the therapist. However, there are some limited exceptions to this in situations as Registered Psychotherapists are mandatory reporters and subject to court orders. Examples of our requirement to break confidentiality is where children or vulnerable individuals are being abused or at risk of harm, if you indicate you are planning to harm yourself or others, or if there is a court order or a judge-issued subpoena for information, records or notes. In these situations, we would need to make a report to the appropriate authority or turn over relevant notes.

  • We require 48 hours notice for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. If less than 48 hours notice is provided, the appointment will be billed in full.
